The Process

Initial Free Consultation

You can reach out to us via email, phone, or through social media for a free, no-stress consultation via phone, video call, or in-person. During this consultation, we will discuss what is to stay and what is to go. If this visit is in-person, we can walk through the property as well. Prior to this consultation, it is best if you do not donate or throw anything out. All sorts of items are saleable, so to maximize profits, reach out to us first.

The Contract

After your free consultation, we will discuss and do a close review of your specific sale contract with you. We can answer any questions that you have and make any modifications that you need.

Preparing for the Sale

At an agreed upon time in advance of the sale, we will begin evaluating and staging the home. We carefully establish item values, determine sale prices, and tag the merchandise. Our goal is to provide a layout and presentation of the sale items that creates an enjoyable, and profitable, sales environment. We put the extra effort in at this stage because it is definitely worth it. We also extensively advertise your sale via online and with local signage, if permitted.

Sale Day(s)

On the actual sale days, our friendly and well-trained staff (headed by the company’s owner, Debbie) will arrive early to prepare to welcome patrons. During the sale, our staff will provide general customer service with the goal of selling your items as efficiently as possible.

Clean Out (if chosen)

At the final conclusion of the sale, some items will remain unsold. It is the client’s choice whether to dispose of these items themselves or to have Wildwood help, for a fee, with boxing, hauling, and donating remaining pieces to local charities.

Payment

Within 15 business days of the sale, Wildwood Estate Sales will mail you a check for your net proceeds from the sale.

FAQs

How long does the estate or downsizing process take?

  • It really varies depending on the client’s needs and particular goals with the sale.  Some sales can be prepared in a number of days whereas others may take weeks. A detailed timeline is something that we can discuss during the free initial consultation.

Do you require a deposit or pre-payment?

  • No, we do not. Wildwood Estate Sales conducts sales on a commission-only basis. That means that we are paid from the proceeds of the actual sale. And, any extra fees that we incur (for a clean out, for example) will be deducted at the conclusion of the sale.

Should I start sorting out now?

  • Before you begin the sorting process, go ahead and reach out to us first. Some items that you might be tempted to toss can actually be worth selling. We can guide you step-by-step through the process, taking away a great deal of the stress in sorting.
